Lethal to Gum, Friendly to the Environment
While our patented process devours gum, it is gentle to surfaces and safe for the environment. Our system uses less than 8 gallons of water per day under normal conditions. The power washing process is normally not conducted during normal business hours due to the noise and large amounts of water used. Many states have very restrictive laws on power washing which mandates that they use water recovery systems.
Our Gum Cart is designed to disburse steam and our proprietary cleaning agent through a wand. The operator exerts only minimal pressure with a slight rubbing motion using a nylon brush on the spot on gum. The nylon brush is used primarily on interior surfaces like carpets while the brass brush is used on harder outdoor surfaces. The gum literally disappears from virtually any surface within seconds.
About GumBusters North America
Whoever thinks of gum on a regular basis? Normally, the only time most of us think about it is when we step in it or feel it under a table or chair and get those cold chills wondering who put it there.
Those of us in the business of removing it may have a different view of this age old problem.
The ancient Greeks and Middle Easterners enjoyed chewing mastic resin combined with beeswax, the first form of chewing gum. The Mayans were not far behind in developing a product called “chicle”, a coagulated sap of the Sapodilla Tree in the 2 nd century.
The modern day gum product actually appeared in 1867 when the famous Mexican General Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna was searching for a substitute for rubber. He contacted an American (Thomas Adams) who experimented with this but found it unsuitable for a substitute for rubber but he realized that it had other qualities. He added flavoring to it and persuaded several local druggists to carry his new product and the rest as they say is history.
Today, over 50 million pieces of gum are chewed every day in the United States along. Literally, every country around the world faces the same challenges in removing gum. Most individuals do not perceive gum as litter like they would paper, bottles or plastic products. As a result, they dispose of gum improperly.
So you will see we have developed a system that addresses this growing challenge. You can learn more about us and our other products and services on our web site.
